Hyatt Place Fredericksburg Stay Went Wrong After Dirty Room Complaint
I recently stayed at a Hyatt Place location in Fredericksburg, Virginia, and the experience quickly turned negative. When I entered the room, the bed was clearly unclean and looked like it hadn’t been properly changed or checked. I contacted the front desk right away to resolve...

Frontier Airlines seat upgrade not honored and priority boarding disappointment
I paid for a seat upgrade on my return flight ahead of time, but when I checked in, the system didn’t reflect the upgrade and I wasn’t refunded. Instead, I ended up being assigned a seat at the back of the plane. On top of that, I also paid for priority boarding, which placed me...

4 days in bangkok: a realistic review from a chinese couple
My boyfriend and I recently completed a 4-day, 3-night trip to Bangkok, and here is a detailed breakdown of our experience. On arrival, Suvarnabhumi Airport was very crowded and immigration took over 30 minutes. We stayed at Arte Hotel in Asok, which we found to be dated and not...

Kimpton Era Midtown just opened… and honestly pretty solid
Stayed at the brand new Kimpton Era in Midtown and overall it’s a really good spot. Location is great, right near 30 Rock with subway access right there. Got a corner room and it was super nice, plus they actually recognized status with drinks + chocolate which was a nice touch....

Just got back from a 6 day stay at Hotel Xcaret Mexico and unfortunately it wasn’t a great experience overall.
The resort itself is beautiful, the staff are friendly, and the pools, slides, gym, and food were all good. The property is well maintained and there are plenty of fun things to do. But there were several frustrating issues. Check in took over an hour even with multiple agents...

Review of a $299 Holiday Inn Club Vacations promotional stay
We recently finished a 7 night promotional stay at Holiday Inn Club Vacations Smoky Mountain Resort in Gatlinburg that cost $299 upfront and included the usual required timeshare presentation. I wanted to share how the experience went overall. Check in was very smooth and quick....

Guesthouse threatening to sue over a one star review from our honeymoon
Stayed at a guesthouse in Italy for our honeymoon earlier this year and it turned into a pretty frustrating experience. We had booked 15 days but the place kept shutting off the hot water. On the last day they actually turned the water off completely with no warning, so we...

Heads up for CocoCay: bring towels from the ship
Just a quick tip from a recent Liberty of the Seas cruise. At CocoCay, towels were already gone by around 10am. When leaving the ship, crew were offering pool towels but calling it a “towel exchange,” which made it a bit confusing and sounded like you needed to swap one instead...

Grand Hyatt Palm Springs vs Thompson?
I stayed at the Hyatt in Palm Springs before and honestly it was one of my worst hotel stays. Ended up moving to the Thompson and loved it. Heading back in May and looking at the Grand Hyatt this time. Has anyone stayed there recently? Is it a big step up from the regular Hyatt?...

Secrets Akumal is the real deal, not just hype
Just read through this long review and honestly it lines up exactly with what people say when a resort is actually good, not just influencer good. Six nights, preferred ocean front, snorkeling right off the beach with sea turtles, and consistent service the whole stay. What...

My honest take on Egypt after visiting
I’m a pretty seasoned traveler, and I’ve never experienced harassment and scamming on this level anywhere else. I honestly thought not looking like a stereotypical tourist might help. It didn’t. If you don’t like constant interaction, pressure, or confrontation, this is not the...

Polaris Lounge Crawl 2026 (IAD, SFO, ORD, LAX)
East Coast weather completely nuked my itinerary, so I leaned into same day flight changes and turned it into a full blown Polaris lounge crawl. Ended up hitting five Polaris lounges in one day. Food highlights in order: LAX: skillet cookie, espresso martini mousse, espresso...

Why do some hotels think bathroom doors are optional?
Just stayed at a 4 Points Sheraton in Biloxi and I’m still confused by the room design. The bathroom had one of those sliding barn doors, but with about a 1.5 inch gap all the way around. From one side you could see straight into the toilet. From the other side, the mirror...

Hiroshima Hilton is a winner
Just wrapped up a stay at the Hiroshima Hilton and wanted to say thanks to everyone who recommended it here. Really lovely property. Staff was exceptional, lounge was solid, location was convenient, and the rates felt very reasonable for what you get. One of those stays that...

Quick Korean Air take as a Flying Blue Platinum in Asia
Did three Korean Air flights over a two week trip and came away with mixed feelings. Status recognition was actually nice. Crew acknowledged my Platinum status on two of the three flights, which doesn’t happen that often and was appreciated. SkyPriority worked perfectly. Check...

Sheraton Saigon Club wanted $50 per person just to wait
Lifetime Platinum here and this one really rubbed me the wrong way. We checked out at 4pm and the front desk told us we could wait in the Sheraton Club before heading to the airport since we’d checked in the night before after the club had already closed. Got upstairs and were...

These yearly Hyatt ranking posts are always fun to read
I love these kinds of posts, especially when they come from someone who’s actually stayed at most of the properties multiple times. It’s way more useful than one off reviews because you can see where things are slipping or improving year over year. The note about ratings...

Tried a Moxy for the first time and it’s definitely not for families
Decided to take a gamble on a Moxy in the Tempe / ASU area. The photos looked fun and different, so we gave it a shot for a family of four. The lobby itself was actually pretty inviting, but check in was oddly confusing since it’s done at the bar. Felt more like arriving at a...

Marriott Marquis Times Square at Christmas was honestly one of our favorite stays
Stayed at the Marriott Marquis Times Square over Christmas and it ended up being one of our favorite Marriott stays. The location is obviously unbeatable, and the room view of Times Square was incredible. What really surprised me was how well soundproofed the rooms were. Once...

Underwhelmed by Kimpton Fitzroy London
Stayed two nights at the Kimpton Fitzroy and came away pretty disappointed. The Queen room felt extremely cramped. Very little usable surface space, and only one electrical outlet that could realistically be used. I was constantly unplugging the kettle, coffee machine, and phone...

Horrible hotel stay with bugs, broken shower, and room access issues… is a chargeback reasonable?
I stayed three nights at a budget inn in Louisville, TN and the whole experience was a mess from start to finish. First night: shower was clogged, loud noise woke me up around 2 to 3am, and I saw a roach in the room. I asked for a room change the next morning. Second room wasn’t...

“Updates” turned this Marriott into an echo chamber
Currently checked into the Tysons Corner Marriott and wow… these “renovations” are rough. The room feels cold and unfinished. Where there clearly used to be a couch, there’s now a single dining chair and a tiny side table. There’s also this random indoor outdoor rug shoved next...

Updating the transparency rule for travel agents
Looks like the cleanest fix. If a travel agent posts a resort review, they just need to say whether the stay was paid or comped. Simple enough and it should calm down the whole debate without making new rules messy.
