I stayed three nights at a budget inn in Louisville, TN and the whole experience was a mess from start to finish.
First night: shower was clogged, loud noise woke me up around 2 to 3am, and I saw a roach in the room. I asked for a room change the next morning.
Second room wasn’t any better. Shower still clogged, another roach, and maintenance never actually showed up despite multiple promises. At one point I was told the roaches were “just trying to get in from the cold,” which was… something.
Things got even weirder. I came back one night to all the lights on after leaving them off. Front desk had no record of anyone entering the room. Another day I returned to find my door unlatched, again with no record of entry. That part honestly bothered me the most.
I reported everything: bugs, plumbing, maintenance not showing up, and the room access issues. I checked out as soon as I reasonably could, but I was stuck because it was prepaid and alternatives were limited.
At this point I’m wondering if this justifies filing a chargeback. I know hotels deal with these often, but this feels way beyond a normal bad stay. Is it worth trying, or should I just cut my losses and move on?
