Stayed at the Marriott Marquis Times Square over Christmas and it ended up being one of our favorite Marriott stays. The location is obviously unbeatable, and the room view of Times Square was incredible. What really surprised me was how well soundproofed the rooms were. Once inside, it was quiet.
The amenities actually felt worth the fees for once. Great gym, solid breakfast credits, and the whole property felt well run. Zero issues with check in for my working service dog, and the holiday decorations were a nice touch. The elevator system was also surprisingly efficient given how massive the hotel is.
Downsides were mostly what you’d expect for that location and time of year. Check in was chaotic and took about an hour, and valet parking was slow and required a lot of advance notice. Annoying, but not shocking for Times Square during Christmas.
Overall, I’d absolutely stay again. You just have to accept a bit of chaos in exchange for the location. For us, it was worth it.
