Decided to take a gamble on a Moxy in the Tempe / ASU area. The photos looked fun and different, so we gave it a shot for a family of four.
The lobby itself was actually pretty inviting, but check in was oddly confusing since it’s done at the bar. Felt more like arriving at a club than a hotel. The room was fine overall, clean and functional, but not somewhere I’d want to stay again with kids.
After staying there, it’s pretty clear this brand is aimed at solo travelers, business travelers, or couples who want a social, party type vibe. It just doesn’t really work for a family setup.
For family trips, I’ll stick with Fairfield or SpringHill Suites. Those brands just make life easier when you’re traveling with kids.
