Live from United SFO Polaris

Flying TPE SFO ORD on one United ticket and was told I have to grab my checked bag in SFO and recheck it before heading to the ORD flight. My layover is only 1h15 and I’m stressing a bit. Do I actually have to leave security, wait at baggage claim, then go back through security...

Just boarded AKL to SFO and the captain did a little ceremony for a passenger hitting 4 million miles on this flight. Kinda crazy when you think about it, captain joked it’s like taking this route over 600 times. Wild amount of time spent in the air.

Just noticed IAH–LIM is only 6h35 on a 767 about the same as EWR–DUB, which sometimes runs on a 757 or 777. Made me wonder: is there anything shorter that still offers Polaris? DEN–ANC is 5h51 on a MAX (not Polaris, of course), and IAH–UIO is about 5h15.

Just landed at SFO on a redeye and went to board my next flight (UA 435 to EWR). The captain comes out and says the plane was overfueled by a lot would take an hour to fix. Then he comes back later to say the only fuel truck they have is full and has to drive across the airport...

At SFO International (Terminal A, around 8:30PM). China Airlines lounge wouldn’t take PP unless flying with them. Golden Gate Lounge stops accepting PP after 5PM. Both of us got turned away (individual accounts). Didn’t even bother trying Virgin Atlantic after that. Honestly, PP...

I’ve got a connection coming up and need to pick between SFO or DEN. Anyone else notice more delays recently, or is it just bad luck on my end?

Flying from the East Coast to the Philippines through SFO in January. We’ll have Polaris Lounge access, but our layover is only 2 hours right now. Thinking about changing to a 5–7 hour layover just to enjoy the lounge worth it or nah?

Thought I was stuck in Premium Plus again on SFO–ICN, then boom upgrade cleared right before they started boarding. Total scramble to switch seats and repack my stuff. Great flight once I settled in, but man, the last-minute suspense is brutal.

Feels like a gamble every time I try to use PlusPoints from SFO. Some folks say Asia routes clear faster, others swear by Europe. I’ve had zero luck on SFO–LHR or SFO–NRT lately. Curious where people are actually getting upgrades confirmed these days
