About 30 minutes before landing at IAD, the captain came on and said we’d be flying in a holding pattern. The way he said it made it sound like more than just routine. Maybe I’m reading too much into it, but it definitely felt like he was hinting at something.

Unpopular opinion: Dulles D Gates are actually nicer than C

Spent some time walking between C and D at IAD tonight, and honestly, D feels way better. Higher ceilings, more windows, just doesn’t feel as cramped or run down. C is what gives that whole concourse its bad rep. D isn’t perfect, but it’s definitely the better half.

$200 upgrade SFO–IAD, honestly better than I expected

Took the $200 upgrade from E+ to First/Polaris and was pretty happy with it. Breakfast was cream cheese & chive eggs, potatoes, and chicken sausage surprisingly good! Even came with a little chili powder shaker. Fresh fruit was great too… skipped the apple pie dessert though
