Sean Howell is a co-founder of TalkTravel, a travel platform designed to make travel more fun for him, his friends and most importantly you. Previously, he co-founded Hornet, a global social network with over 30 million users, where he led product and growth strategy across 25+ countries. He serves as a technical advisor to the United Nations and is board chair at the Center for Public Health and Human Rights at Johns Hopkins. He has published peer-reviewed research on digital communities and public health, and serves on the boards of IGLTA (Travel Association) and MPact. Before any of that, he spent two decades building community spaces the old-fashioned way — converting a 19th-century Masonic temple into a music venue in rural Washington, founding Friends of Seattle, and launching Startup Drinks in bars across the city because he believed most civic problems could be improved with a beer and a stranger. He is unreasonably passionate about red pandas and will derail any serious conversation to talk about them.
