I know security has a tough job and I get why the rules are strict. Safety matters. But lately the way some security cast members talk to guests is really killing the mood right from the start.
Disneyland used to feel welcoming the second you arrived. Now it feels like the first interaction of the day is someone barking orders or talking down to people. I’ve seen it with elderly guests, parents with little kids, and people who are just confused and overwhelmed.
There’s a big difference between being firm and being rude. You can enforce rules without sounding annoyed, sarcastic, or dismissive. Especially at a place that sells itself on magic and customer service.
For a lot of families, this is a once in a lifetime or once every few years trip. First impressions matter. Starting the day feeling embarrassed or snapped at sets a bad tone for everything else.
Not saying all security is bad. Some are great. But there have been enough bad interactions lately that it feels like more than just a few bad apples.
