I’ve flown Qantas QF1 and QF2 between London and Singapore several times over the last few months and have noticed that the meal service has been exactly the same on every flight. I’m not referring to general categories like beef or chicken, but the actual dishes, side items, bread, and overall menu selection.
I understand that airlines may not expect many passengers to fly the same route frequently, and I am not expecting a completely redesigned menu every trip. Still, having almost no menu rotation on one of Qantas’ flagship long-haul routes feels surprising. Even small monthly or seasonal changes would make repeat trips feel fresher.
Keeping staple items such as breakfast options before arrival makes sense, but the lack of variety becomes noticeable when flying the route regularly. The onboard service itself has been consistently good, which actually makes the repetitive catering stand out even more.
Given the importance of Singapore in the network and the available catering infrastructure at both Singapore and London, I would have expected more menu flexibility.
