I’m trying to figure out how baggage fees work on a codeshare booking. If I book an American Airlines-operated flight through Qantas, would I be charged based on Qantas baggage fees or American Airlines baggage fees?
I’m specifically looking at adding a second checked bag, and there seems to be a big difference in pricing. American shows a second bag fee around $150, while Qantas appears to charge over $300 per additional bag in my case.
I’m a bit confused about which airline’s baggage rules and pricing would actually apply when booking a codeshare itinerary. Has anyone dealt with a similar situation before?
