Qantas is closing its Singapore-based Jetstar Asia on July 31, 2025, citing soaring costs and stiff competition—about 500 jobs will be lost, and 13 aircraft will be redeployed to Australia/New Zealand.
The move frees up around A$500 million to reinvest in Qantas’ strong domestic and regional operations.
