I’m probably just exhausted from getting almost no sleep on a red-eye flight from Singapore to Melbourne, but the experience in Qantas economy felt significantly worse compared to my previous flight with Singapore Airlines.
The seating felt extremely tight, with passengers packed closely together, making it uncomfortable and easy to get bumped by seatmates. It also became frustrating whenever the person in front reclined their seat.
What made it more surprising is that the flight wasn’t even full, there seemed to be plenty of empty seats. It made me wonder why airlines don’t just reduce the number of seats per row to create more space and comfort.
Overall, I’m confused why Qantas economy feels so much less comfortable compared to many Asian carriers like Singapore Airlines, Thai Airways, or Cathay Pacific.
