Positive experience with Booking.com

I know positive stories are rare here since most posts are complaints, but I wanted to share a good experience.

We’re travelers from the Netherlands and went backpacking through India a few months ago overall an amazing country and trip. In Coimbatore, we booked a Super O Hotel for two nights. We hadn’t stayed with Super O before, but it’s a well-known budget chain in India.

When we arrived, the staff looked uncomfortable and told us right away: “No foreigners.” Apparently, this particular chain (or location) does not allow foreign guests, even though the property was bookable on Booking.com.

Fortunately, we were able to cancel the reservation without issue. Wanting to prevent the same thing from happening to other travelers, we reported the situation to Booking.com.

They responded quickly, explained that the restriction was technically mentioned in the fine print, but agreed it wasn’t clear enough and said they would improve how this information is displayed. As an apology, they also gave us a €25 voucher.

Just sharing to show that sometimes Booking.com support does work as it should.
