I recently booked a last-minute trip to Australia after comparing fares on Kayak and selected a Qantas Comfort+ ticket.
Immediately after booking, I started receiving WhatsApp messages from a third-party company called Underpricer. Since then, the experience has been extremely frustrating:
Missing traveler information
Repeated unsolicited phone calls
Attempts to upsell seat selections without proper confirmation
Incomplete boarding pass details
Inability to check in online
Long delays in getting support (sometimes told it takes days to reach an agent)
Multiple back-and-forth chats just to resolve basic booking issues
Neither airline customer service (including Qantas and other carriers involved in the itinerary) was able to assist directly, as the booking was handled through the third-party agent. This has led to additional steps at each leg of the journey just to secure seats and boarding passes.
Overall, the time, stress, and extra coordination required outweighed any initial cost savings. The experience highlights the risks of booking through third-party intermediaries when compared to booking directly with airlines.
