This caught my attention because it goes against what I always assumed. A group of hotels removed free breakfast completely, no lobby coffee either, just in-room coffee… and somehow reviews went up and revenue stayed fine.
Kinda surprising. I always thought breakfast was one of those “must-have” things, especially for mid-range places.
They’re now debating offering a paid add-on with a nearby breakfast spot for like $18–$20. Honestly, I’m not sure I’d prepay for that. I’d probably just walk out and find something myself.
Feels like free breakfast matters less than hotels think… or maybe only certain types of travelers care.
