Flights cancelled / rebooking advice

I originally booked flights from Melbourne to Athens in August through Qantas Airways, with the flights operated by Emirates.

I recently received an email notifying me of a schedule change, with the option to accept or modify the itinerary. I selected a new timing that suited me better, but shortly after confirming, I noticed in the Qantas app that the updated flights appeared as cancelled.

After contacting Qantas support, I was advised not to rebook with Emirates due to the current situation in the Middle East and was instead offered an alternative routing via Qatar Airways.

I’m unsure how to proceed, whether to wait before making further changes, accept the Qatar Airways alternative, or request a full refund and book with a different airline altogether. I’m looking for advice on what others have done in similar situations.
