I put together a diecast representation of the flights my wife and I took during our trip to Australia last December. All of the aircraft models are in 1:200 scale, and it was interesting seeing the size differences between them.
Our journey included:
American Airlines Embraer 175 from Sioux Falls to Dallas
Boeing 787-9 from Dallas to Melbourne
Airbus A330-300 from Melbourne to Perth
Boeing 737-800 from Perth to Sydney
Airbus A380 from Sydney to Dallas
Embraer 175 from Dallas back to Sioux Falls
The difference in aircraft sizes is really noticeable when they are lined up together. I know there are plenty of discussions about airline issues and criticism, especially involving Qantas, but our experience was fantastic and it ended up being a truly memorable once-in-a-lifetime trip.
