I regularly stay at Marriott/Hilton properties (300+ nights a year) and have never experienced anything like this before.
During a short two-night stay in Denver, I left my room during the day on the second day and returned to find the room fully cleaned and many of my belongings gone. I went to the front desk to ask what happened, but the staff seemed unsure and didn’t provide a clear explanation. They later checked in the back and returned with a small bag containing only a fraction of my items.
The room’s refrigerator had been stocked with groceries, and I’m now missing roughly $500 worth of items, including clothing and headphones.
I’ve already reported the incident to the hotel general manager and the police, but I’m being told that nothing can be done until the investigation is completed.
Has anyone experienced something similar and had it resolved? Is there anything else I should be doing at this stage?
