I recently booked a return domestic Qantas flight out of Brisbane for my 82-year-old father, who will be traveling alone. He rarely flies, and this trip is to visit family, so we won’t be able to accompany him at the airport.
We initially had someone who could assist him through check-in and boarding, but that is no longer possible. Now we are concerned about how he will manage navigating the airport on his own, especially with ongoing renovations at Brisbane Airport.
He will likely take an Uber to the airport, but we are worried about him finding check-in, going through security, and reaching the gate without help. He is also booked in business class, but we are unsure what assistance options exist to help him from arrival through to boarding.
We have looked into mobility assistance options, but it is unclear whether that includes full escort support through the airport process. Any advice or experience with similar situations would be appreciated.
