Seeing a $250 roundtrip “sale” and then almost another $200 just to pick seats feels rough, especially for Southwest where that used to be part of the deal. I get the argument that it was baked into fares before, but when this is the price during a sale, it’s hard not to feel a little played.
Pay for the flight, pay for bags, pay for seats. At that point it doesn’t really feel like the Southwest people were loyal to anymore. I’ve quietly been booking other airlines lately too, and honestly… it’s been fine.
Kind of wild to see how fast the value proposition disappeared. RIP indeed.
