Posting this here instead of Google because I want honest discussion.
The resort itself is genuinely excellent. Staff and service were outstanding, probably some of the best I’ve experienced in Egypt. Tips go a long way and the staff really takes care of you. Food was very good overall, especially the fish, and all à la carte restaurants were included which was a nice bonus. Rooms, grounds, beach, pools, all top tier. If you’re looking purely at the hotel, it’s a luxury experience.
That said, the guest mix made the stay uncomfortable at times.
Around 70 percent of guests were Russian, due to special arrangements the hotel has. I’m not saying this applies to everyone, but there was a noticeably higher level of rude and aggressive behavior than I’ve ever seen at a resort. Line cutting, pushing at bars, shouting at staff, and openly mocking non Russian guests. Family members who speak Russian overheard constant comments about other guests.
The way some guests treated staff was honestly upsetting. I saw multiple incidents where staff were ordered around or spoken to aggressively over minor things. Staff clearly tolerate a lot because of the volume of business coming from these bookings.
The most disturbing part was learning from staff that certain activities like air rifle shooting were removed in the past because guests would use them to threaten staff, sometimes while drunk. Even archery has apparently had rare but serious issues. That alone was enough to make me uncomfortable staying there again.
If you’re Russian, you’ll probably have a great time. If you’re not, you may still enjoy the resort itself, but you’ll need patience and thick skin. For me, the constant tension and disrespect overshadowed what should have been a relaxing luxury stay.
Amazing hotel. Difficult atmosphere. I won’t be returning.
