I booked a flight for a group of 4 from Singapore to Seoul, with departure on 02/05 and arrival in Incheon on 03/05 morning, on T’way Air.
One of the passenger details (my companion) has a completely incorrect last name, not just a typo but the wrong surname entirely.
What I have tried:
Contacted Trip.com repeatedly for over a week
Tried reaching T’way Air counter at Changi Airport with no response
Attempted to contact T’way Air hotline, no answer
Checked T’way Air website but there is no clear option for name correction since the booking was made through Trip.com
Submitted ID and supporting documents, but Trip.com says the airline is refusing the change and claims the error is mine
Trip.com insists the mistake came from my side, but I used saved passenger details from a previous booking in 2025 and did not manually change anything.
Current issue:
I am unable to get any confirmation on whether a name correction is possible at this stage or if airport counter staff can help before departure.
Question:
Are we essentially out of luck at this point, or is there any realistic chance that the T’way Air counter at Changi Airport can still correct the name before check-in closes?
Has anyone successfully fixed a completely wrong surname close to departure when the ticket was booked through an OTA like Trip.com?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
