My wife and I won two Turkish Airlines business class tickets at a charity auction and fully paid for them.
The terms were clearly stated, including blackout dates which were May 25 to September 16 and December 10 to January 10. Based on this, we requested to book flights in March.
Now the airline is refusing to honor the booking, saying March is also restricted due to holidays like Nowruz and Easter.
However, those holidays were never listed in the original blackout terms.
We already paid for a 7-day walking tour that depends on these flights, and this is now causing major issues for our plans.
We contacted the charity that ran the auction, and they reached out to the airline. The airline still refused and said March is not available, even though that was not part of the original agreement.
We are trying to understand what options we have in this situation and whether anyone has dealt with something similar.
