Booked a Wizz Air flight from Luton to Bilbao for July 14 via Trip.com. Original departure was 13:25. Just got notified that Wizz has moved it to 18:00.
They’re telling me my only options are to accept the new time or rebook onto another Wizz flight. Problem is, the next Wizz flight to Bilbao isn’t until July 16, which obviously doesn’t work.
The new 18:00 flight completely kills my first day. I’ll miss the whole afternoon and evening of my trip, plus the World Cup semi final that night. I absolutely would not have booked this flight if it had been scheduled like this originally.
I assumed a refund would be the obvious solution so I could rebook on another airline from Gatwick earlier in the day. But Trip.com says Wizz’s policy doesn’t allow refunds for this change, which feels insane to me. A nearly 5 hour schedule change with no reasonable alternative and no refund option?
Has anyone dealt with this before with Wizz? Is this actually allowed, or is it worth escalating and pushing harder for a refund?
