On my recent Wizz Air flight from Barcelona, I was charged 73 euros at the gate for my carry-on bag.
The issue is that my bag should comply with their policy. The wheels do not add more than 5 cm, and the airline states that wheels and handles are not included in the size limit as long as they stay within that allowance. However, my bag did not fit in the sizer only because of the wheels, even though without them it clearly matches the permitted dimensions.
I tried to explain this to the staff and pointed out their own rule, but they still insisted I pay in order to board. I also took photos of the bag inside the sizer to prove that it fits when the wheels are accounted for properly.
What options do I have to request a refund, and is there a realistic chance they will actually reimburse this charge?
