Just flew KE for the first time (A330 out, 777 back) and something that really stood out was how many window shades stayed closed basically the entire flight. And unlike airlines like SQ, the crew didn’t require shades up for takeoff or landing. Totally opposite vibe from what I’m used to.
Also noticed most window-seat folks seemed really committed to keeping them down, not even popping them open for a skyline shot or clouds. Both flights landed at night so sunlight wasn’t even an issue.
Is this just a KE thing? A regional preference? Or do some airlines just not enforce “shades up” at all?
