Flying home from Tokyo on an 11-hour flight soon and trying to figure out the seat strategy with my teenage son.
He wants the window, I prefer the aisle, and right now the plan is to leave the middle seat between us when selecting seats.
Part of me wonders if that’s kind of rude, like we’re hoping nobody books the middle. At the same time, if someone does take it, it’s not a huge deal.
Also knowing my son, he’ll probably ask to swap halfway through the flight once his legs start feeling cramped.
Curious what others think. Is leaving the middle seat between you and your kid considered bad etiquette or pretty normal?
