Yesterday I booked an upcoming hotel stay for next week, and the reservation is non-refundable. Today I received an IHG promotion offering an extra 3,000 points if I book through the app and complete a stay within the next 30 days.
After reading the terms, it seems like I might still qualify even though the booking was made before I received or activated the offer. However, when I contacted support, they told me I would not be eligible because I activated the promotion after making the reservation.
Has anyone experienced something similar before? I am curious whether the points actually posted anyway or if the booking truly had to be made after activating the offer.
