I was just on a road trip near Clearlake this weekend when I got the alert about the Lake Fire it spread fast and felt way too close for comfort. Started around 2 p.m. and already hit over 340 acres in just two hours. Evac orders hit parts of Clearlake including areas around City Hall and Borax Lake. Cal Fire’s been working hard, and thankfully, as of now it’s 5% contained with some zones downgraded to warnings.
The weather’s definitely not helping: dry, 85°F, and winds kicking up spots. It’s a stark reminder of how quickly things can escalate out here. Anyone else get caught up in evacuation traffic or have tips for traveling NorCal during fire season? Stay safe out there and follow local updates if you’re headed this way!
