Universal Orlando has rolled out facial recognition tech across its parks, and some guests have noticed the cameras at entrances, lockers, and even on certain rides. The goal is speed and convenience your face essentially becomes your ticket. That means faster entry at the gates, easier use of lockers and Express Pass lanes, and fewer delays with lost passes. Universal also says this boosts security by making it harder for someone to sneak in with another person’s ticket.
Of course, not everyone’s thrilled about it. Some guests worry about privacy and data storage, while others just find it a little weird to have their face scanned at every step. Universal insists the system is secure and focused only on improving efficiency, especially as crowds get heavier with the 2026 expansions. For most people, the trade-off is shorter lines and smoother access but if you’re uncomfortable with facial recognition, it may take some adjustment.
