In posts and comments on Reddit, I often see people immediately making assumptions when someone mentions having a Thai girlfriend. Instead of taking it at face value, replies frequently suggest she must be an influencer, a bar girl, or a freelancer, even without any context.
This generalization is frustrating because it ignores the fact that there are many educated, successful, and financially independent women in Thailand. The assumption feels like it comes from a limited or biased perspective rather than real understanding.
In my case, my girlfriend is well established, owns a Porsche, and lives comfortably in a large home. She is financially independent and can afford what she wants, but I still choose to support her as well.
Overall, I feel like these stereotypes say more about the people making them than about Thai women themselves.
