I’m trying to book a multi-city trip with Aer Lingus for JFK → Dublin on July 2 and Shannon → JFK on July 19.
I understand this is peak summer travel to Ireland, but the “Smart” fare is coming in at over $1200, which feels very high compared to what I expected.
It seems like one-way or standard round-trip pricing is sometimes lower than combining the same routes into a multi-city ticket, which doesn’t really make sense to me. I was hoping the multi-city option would be more efficient or even cheaper.
Is there a reason multi-city pricing is so high on this route, especially during peak season? Will these fares likely drop closer to departure, or is this just normal pricing for summer Ireland travel?
