Flew out of Dubai T3 and had a weird contradiction. Emirates’ policy says small electronics like laptops are allowed in checked luggage. But at check-in, the agent showed a screen with items listed, including a laptop, and had me confirm none of those were in my checked bag.
So which is it? If the airline allows it, why are they still insisting you remove it at the counter?
Genuinely curious if this is a local airport rule, a safety thing, or just staff defaulting to a stricter checklist.
Edit: before anyone says it, yes, Emirates’ own dangerous goods page says laptops are allowed in checked baggage.
