Why do luxury hotels charge high laundry fees, and are there brands that include it in the room rate?

I find it frustrating that many luxury hotels and resorts charge very high prices for laundry services, especially when nightly rates can already exceed $1,000.

While I am not expecting complimentary laundry at all properties, some hotels charge individually for items such as socks, underwear, and T-shirts, which quickly becomes very expensive.

I am trying to understand why this pricing structure exists beyond simple revenue generation, and whether there are any luxury hotel brands that routinely include laundry or pressing services as part of the standard room rate.
