Why are Chinese airlines showing up less in Europe–Asia flight searches?

I’ve noticed something strange when searching for flights between Europe and Asia.

In the past, search results (especially on Skyscanner and Google Flights) often included many cheaper Chinese airlines. However, when I check now, I hardly see any Chinese carriers listed at all.

I’m wondering if something has changed with these airlines, or if it’s more to do with how flight search engines are displaying results now.
