I came across a fare from Denver to Mexico City and was surprised by the upgrade pricing for United’s premium cabin.
The flight is only around three hours long and appears to have very few seats occupied, with almost no one booked in the premium cabin. Despite that, the upgrade price was listed at roughly $3,000 (or the equivalent mileage amount).
It made me wonder who is actually willing to pay that kind of premium for a relatively short flight on a Boeing 737, especially when there seems to be plenty of unsold inventory.
