Which Cities Have You Visited That Felt Dark or Unsettling

I saw this question on Twitter, but most of the responses were focused on U.S. cities, so I wanted to ask a more global group of travelers here.

Which cities have you visited that gave off a dark or uncomfortable vibe?

For me, I’d say Bangkok. Not the entire city, it can be lively and enjoyable but certain areas felt off. Some bars, in particular, had a noticeably negative or uneasy atmosphere.
