Three similar mileage options NYC to Milan. What would you choose?

• Delta A330 economy, nonstop

• United economy plus, NYC to Chicago on a 737 then 787 Dreamliner to Milan with a 1 hour layover

Curious what people would prioritize here. Aircraft? Airline? Nonstop vs connection?
