I’m currently planning a Mediterranean cruise and I’m finding the excursion options a bit overwhelming. Every port has multiple tours available, and the prices vary quite a lot.
I’ve read mixed opinions. Some people recommend always booking through the cruise line for safety and convenience, while others suggest going with local operators to save money. I’m trying to figure out what is actually worth it, and what might just be overhyped.
I definitely want to avoid spending a full day on a crowded tour bus if the experience isn’t worth it.
How do you usually decide which excursions to book? Do you tend to book something in every port, or do you leave some days open just to explore on your own?
Also curious if anyone has ever skipped a “must see” excursion to save money and later regretted it.
