Staying at an inn in Vermont for a 3 night stay. Day 2, the power went out from around noon until about 8:30pm. All the restaurants on property were closed and no alternatives were offered, which I get since there was no power.
Then overnight, even after the power came back, the heat went out around midnight and still hasn’t come back on over 18 hours later. Temps were around -4°F yesterday and about 9°F today.
About 30 minutes ago, the power went out again in half the hotel. I still have power, but no heat, and once again the restaurants are closed because they’re in the other half of the building. It’s snowing badly, so we can’t safely drive anywhere for food. We’re cold, hungry, and honestly pretty frustrated.
Every time we ask the front desk what’s going on, politely, they act like we’re inconveniencing them. No updates, no emails, no communication at all. No mention of compensation or anything.
I know outages happen and it’s not the staff’s fault, but this is Vermont. Cold and snow aren’t exactly rare. And from what we can tell, the rest of the town seems fine.
Am I being overdramatic, or does this seem reasonable to ask for some sort of refund or compensation?
