I am currently a Flying Blue Gold member with 287 XP and expect to earn another 20 XP before the end of June. That would bring me to 307 XP, allowing me to reach Platinum status on July 1. As I understand it, 300 XP would then be deducted and a new qualification period would begin.
However, there is a possibility that my travel with Air France and KLM will decrease significantly after that. I am trying to understand what happens to my status one year later under a few different scenarios:
If I earn no additional XP during the following 12 months and end the year with only 7 XP, would I lose Platinum status entirely, or would I be downgraded to Gold for another year through a soft landing process?
If I earn around 100 XP during the next qualification year and finish with about 107 XP, what status would I have afterward? If a soft landing applies, are the XP still deducted?
If I earn around 200 XP during the next qualification year and finish with about 207 XP, how would that affect my status going forward?
I would appreciate any clarification from those familiar with Flying Blue's qualification and downgrade rules.
