Checking out of a Hilton Garden Inn and I just asked the front desk how much of my Gold food credit I had left. Figured I’d grab something from the pantry instead of letting it go to waste.
Guy standing behind me suddenly jumps in with “I can’t believe you’re asking about ten dollars” and then does this fake gesture like he’s reaching for his wallet and says “do you want ten dollars?”
I told him not to offer if he wasn’t serious and that shut him up pretty fast.
I wasn’t rude, wasn’t holding things up, just asking a normal question about a benefit I get. Am I crazy, or is this not a situation where another guest needs to insert themselves?
