Posting this for my cousin who’s cabin crew. She was flying standby on staff travel at Heathrow T4 and didn’t make her first flight, so she’d been waiting around landside for hours. While sitting on the floor near check-in, two security officers came up, chatted with her, asked where she was going, and looked at her passport.
She said they held onto it for a while, took what looked like a photo of it, and mentioned they check on women traveling alone because of trafficking concerns. They were polite but it made her feel really uneasy especially the photo part.
Does anyone know if this is normal airport procedure or something she should be worried about?
