We went to the cruise ship art auction and… yeah 😅

One day they had a “guess the price of the painting” thing. To find out if you won, you had to attend the art auction the next day. They said they’d announce it at the beginning, which of course didn’t happen. Still, we went anyway and honestly had a good time.

Overall, I think the art auction concept on a cruise is kind of dumb. I don’t really get why it exists. But we were curious and wanted to experience something new.

The auctioneer had a great personality and some of the artwork was genuinely impressive. Other pieces looked like stuff you could find at HomeGoods. Prices were all over the place. Some were insanely expensive and didn’t sell at all. The highest sale I saw was around $3k. Others went for as low as $50. What shocked me most was how much people were buying. The person next to me was snapping up pieces nonstop.

Would I go again? Probably not. But I’m glad I checked it out once just to see what the hype was about.
