Was I wrong to refuse a seat swap in first class?

On a recent flight with American Airlines from Philadelphia to Denver, I was seated in first class in an aisle seat. I prefer aisle seats because I tend to get up frequently during flights.

After boarding, a couple asked if I would switch seats so they could sit together in the same row. I declined because of my preference for an aisle seat and my need to move around often. The request was then made to another passenger in the row, who agreed to switch, resulting in the couple sitting together.

The interaction left me wondering whether refusing the swap was reasonable or if I should have accommodated the request, especially given the circumstances and seating class.
