I have been planning to visit Pompeii for over 30 years and finally have a trip scheduled, with a guided tour booked for May 8.
However, I recently found out that the Pope is also expected to visit Pompeii on the same day, which I had not anticipated when planning.
I am unsure how this might affect my visit. Will there be large crowds, restricted access, or schedule disruptions?
Would it be better to reschedule the tour, or is it still manageable to visit on that day?
