I’m sorry if this is a basic question, but I want to make sure we’re being respectful and doing the right thing.
Would using a regular sunscreen (not labeled reef-safe) be an issue if we’re not entering the ocean or any other body of water? My nephew has sensory sensitivities and prefers a specific sheer sunscreen that isn’t reef-safe.
We’re planning to use protective clothing like a hat and a long-sleeve rash guard while outdoors. If he does go swimming, he will use reef-safe sunscreen (even if reluctantly). My question is whether non–reef-safe sunscreen still has an environmental impact even when it’s only used on land.
