It looks like US tourism is finally on a real upswing. San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Miami are leading the recovery, with San Diego, Denver, Phoenix, Chicago, and even Boston showing clear gains. Domestic travel seems to be driving the rebound, with big events, concerts, and conventions filling hotels and downtowns again. San Francisco alone is expecting nearly 23.5 million visitors this year, while Miami’s downtown hotel occupancy has jumped more than 3 points compared to 2024.
I’ve been traveling through some of these cities recently, and the energy is definitely back whether it’s festivals in Denver, the buzz in Miami, or packed summer weekends in San Diego. International numbers are still mixed, but the overall confidence to travel is strong.
