Just saw that one of the completed Talgo trainsets from the scrapped Madison–Milwaukee rail project is still sitting unused in Milwaukee, seats wrapped in plastic like it's waiting for a future that never came. I knew Walker killed the project, but I didn’t realize just how much potential Wisconsin lost. This could’ve been a high-speed rail line linking our major cities, easing traffic on I-94 and creating jobs. Instead, we’re left with an empty train and a mess of “what-ifs.”
I know one of the trainsets ended up in Nigeria, but seeing this one still parked here is a gut punch.
