I booked a Universal Orlando vacation package that included round-trip flights with Spirit Airlines.
Now I’m running into an issue because Spirit is no longer operating, and I’m not sure what to do with the flight portion of my booking.
I contacted Universal Vacation Packages, but the representative said they cannot modify anything yet because they are waiting for guidance regarding Spirit refunds. They also told me to contact Spirit, but that doesn’t seem possible anymore.
From what I understand, the money was already passed to the airline, but I booked everything through Universal, so I’m confused about who is actually responsible for the refund or replacement flights.
Later, I spoke to another representative who said Universal is still waiting for instructions and that I should eventually receive a call about refunding the flight portion. I would then need to book my own flights separately.
Has anyone dealt with a situation like this before?
